SCHOOL LEAVERS PRINTS

Would you like prints of your son or daughter's school? The prints consist of a painting of the school (originally based in pen and watercolour) with pupils involved in various activities; we have had climbing trees, a summer concert or cricket matches. I always seek advice as to what are the more popular and associated activities on a school by school basis, aswell as asking for access to the school in order to take a couple of pictures that would then present well in a painting. However, I can also work from good photographs.

The prints are then supplied in a mount with a mount slip that (subject to supply availability) corresponds to the uniform colours or to the school’s branding. It has become somewhat of a tradition at the schools that the year group signs around the mount and it serves as a lovely momento of their precious time at Prep or Senior school, with memories of the friendships they have made.

The prints are £45, are 16 x 12” in size and are wrapped in cellophane for safe-keeping. This size is a standard frame size to if you wanted to source your own frame. I do also supply them in a frame – the cost for which is £65.

There is no cost to the school. I simply ask for assistance from the year group reps or a member of the PTA or Parents to help promote and distribute the prints. In return I am happy to provide the PTA with 5% of the profits raised, providing there is a commitment to order at least 10 prints. Depending on the size of the year leaver year group, I have found an average of 20 prints per school ordered is generally a good rule of thumb. The original painting is also available to purchase by anyone who would like an original.

This school has three prints, mainly because my son attended the school!

They depict their annual Summer Concert, the boys playing various sports and riverside activities (something that makes this school fairly unique) – all with the school buildings in the background.

Elstree School, Berkshire

This depicts a cricket match infront of the beautiful main school building. Mount colours available are Elstree blue or pink.

St Andrew's School, Pangbourne

I am told that climbing trees is encouraged at this school and so that is what I chose to depict in the illustration. Green mount slip to match their uniform.

Brockhurst and Marlston House, Berkshire

This depicts the annual tug of war competition held at the school.

Pangboure College, Berkshire

Pangbourne College has several Parades each year, where pupils march in unison to sound of the wonderful college band. It is a great tradition of the school, an important nod to its naval history and is synonymous with precious memories made there. At the end of the year on Founders Day, old Pangbournians are able to join in the marching. The Upper Sixth year then mark the end of their time at the school by an emotional march to ‘We are Sailing’.

Reed's School, Surrey

This was a private commission placed by the Tim Henman Foundation, so not turned in to prints. However, it demonstrates another picture of the school with a lot of different children involved in many different activities.
